Shootr.app Terms and Conditions
Last updated: May 2026 Version: 2026-05-terms-v1
These Terms and Conditions apply to your use of the Shootr.app family of websites, apps, products, and services, including Vantage, Shootr Competitions, and Plotsheets.
In these Terms:
- "Shootr.app", "we", "us", or "our" means the Shootr.app family of websites, apps, products, and services.
- "Services" means the Shootr.app websites, apps, products, and services, including Vantage, Shootr Competitions, Plotsheets, and related services.
- "Vantage" means the Shootr.app service for personal shooting plotsheet tracking, OCR-assisted data entry, analytics, AI-assisted coaching, and optional group sharing.
- "Shootr Competitions" means the Shootr.app service for competition entry, organiser tools, scoring, results, and related event workflows.
- "Plotsheets" means the Shootr.app tool for generating, customising, exporting, and printing shooting plotsheets.
- "You" means the person or organisation using the Services.
By using the Services, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Services.
For questions about these Terms, contact:
1. Product-specific terms
Some Shootr.app products or access routes are subject to additional product-specific terms.
These include:
- Schedule 1 — Vantage-specific terms
- Schedule 2 — Shootr Competitions-specific terms
- Schedule 3 — Plotsheets-specific terms
- any event-specific, school-specific, or checkout-specific terms shown to you when you use a particular feature.
If product-specific terms conflict with these general Terms, the product-specific terms apply for that product, event, or access route.
2. Accounts and sign-in
You may need an account to use some or all of the Services.
You are responsible for keeping your account and sign-in method secure.
Where a Service uses email-based one-time passcodes, you are responsible for keeping access to your email account secure.
You must not share one-time passcodes, login links, passwords, or account access with anyone else.
Your account is for your own use only unless the relevant product-specific terms expressly allow otherwise.
If your access is provided through a school, organisation, team, event, or other managed entitlement, that access may be removed, reassigned, suspended, or allowed to expire according to the relevant product-specific terms.
3. Age requirements
The Services are generally intended for users aged 13 or over.
If you are under 18, you should use the Services only with the involvement or permission of a parent, guardian, school, club, coach, organiser, or other responsible adult where appropriate.
Some Services or access routes may have higher age or eligibility requirements.
We do not knowingly provide accounts to children under 13.
4. Free and paid features
Some Services or features may be free.
Other Services or features may require an active:
- paid subscription;
- free trial;
- school seat;
- event entry;
- organiser permission;
- promotional entitlement;
- other access permission.
We may change which features are free or paid from time to time.
5. Free trials
Some Services may offer a free trial.
Where a Service offers a free trial, the conditions of that trial (including its length, what it includes, and whether payment card details are required to start it) will be shown at the relevant checkout, sign-up, or product flow.
If a free trial ends and you have not started a paid subscription through Stripe or another approved payment flow, your access may revert to a free or limited tier, but you will not be charged unless you separately start a paid subscription.
Product-specific terms may apply to free trials for a particular Service. See the relevant Schedule for details.
6. Subscriptions and payments
Payments are processed through Stripe or the relevant payment provider shown at checkout.
Shootr.app does not store your full card details.
Subscription payments, renewals, cancellations, and payment changes are handled through Stripe or the relevant payment flow shown at checkout.
Where in-app cancellation is available, you can cancel through the relevant account, billing, or subscription area.
Cancellation will normally stop future renewal charges, but it does not automatically refund payments already made unless required by law or agreed by Shootr.app.
Your access to paid features may continue until the end of the billing period you have already paid for, unless the relevant subscription flow states otherwise.
7. Managed access (schools, organisations, events)
Schools, organisations, clubs, teams, or event organisers may purchase or arrange managed access for eligible users.
Managed access may be assigned, reassigned, suspended, removed, or allowed to expire according to the relevant package, agreement, or product-specific terms.
A user with active managed access may receive access to paid features without holding an individual subscription, for as long as the managed entitlement remains assigned and active. If the entitlement is removed, reassigned, expires, or the package ends, access may revert to the free tier or end.
Managed access may be subject to additional written terms agreed with the school, organisation, or event organiser.
8. Prices, plans, and feature changes
Shootr.app may offer free features, paid subscriptions, trials, managed seats, event fees, promotional entitlements, and other access options.
We may change our prices, plans, packages, seat costs, trial terms, discounts, and feature availability from time to time.
Price changes for new purchases may apply immediately.
If you have already purchased a one-off seat, event entry, or fixed-period entitlement, that purchase will continue on the terms shown at the time of purchase, unless stated otherwise.
If you have an active paid subscription, the price for your current billing period will not change during that billing period.
We may change the price for future renewals, but we will aim to give you reasonable notice before the new price applies. If you do not want to continue at the new price, you can cancel before the renewal date.
9. Refunds
Once a paid subscription, school seat, event entry, or other paid access has started, payments are generally non-refundable except where required by law or where Shootr.app chooses to offer a refund at its discretion.
If Shootr.app offers a discretionary refund period, this will be shown at checkout, in the subscription flow, in the event entry flow, or in related communications.
Product-specific refund rules may apply. See the relevant Schedule for details.
10. Your content and data
You keep ownership of the data, images, notes, entries, journal entries, equipment details, event information, and other content you upload, enter, or submit through the Services.
By using the Services, you grant Shootr.app permission to host, store, process, copy, display, analyse, export, publish where relevant to the product, and otherwise use that content as needed to:
- provide the Services;
- secure the Services;
- maintain the Services;
- support users, schools, organisers, and administrators;
- process OCR and image-recognition features where the relevant Service uses them;
- provide analytics and exports;
- enable group, event, or other sharing features where the relevant Service uses them;
- provide AI features where the relevant Service uses them;
- debug and improve the Services;
- develop, train, test, and improve OCR, recognition, analytics, AI, and related features;
- comply with legal, security, operational, and record-keeping requirements.
This permission lasts for as long as needed to provide the Services and as otherwise described in the Privacy Policy and any product-specific terms.
11. Anonymised, de-identified, and aggregated data
You agree that Shootr.app may use anonymised, de-identified, or aggregated information derived from your use of the Services to improve, train, test, and develop recognition, analytics, AI, model-training, and service features, provided this does not intentionally identify you.
This may include handwriting samples, extracted plotsheet values, shooting-performance patterns, equipment metadata, usage patterns, event statistics, and aggregated analytics, where the relevant Service generates such data.
12. Data accuracy and user verification
You are responsible for the accuracy of information you enter, upload, confirm, share, submit, or publish through the Services.
Where the Services use OCR, handwriting recognition, image processing, AI, or other automated tools, those tools are provided for convenience only and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for a particular use.
You are responsible for reviewing and confirming automated outputs before saving, submitting, relying on, sharing, exporting, publishing, or otherwise using them.
13. Acceptable use
You must not misuse the Services.
In particular, you must not:
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Services or other users' data;
- interfere with, overload, disrupt, or damage the Services;
- scrape, crawl, copy, or harvest data except where expressly permitted;
- reverse engineer the Services except where expressly permitted by law;
- attempt to extract, copy, reproduce, or misuse Shootr.app's OCR, recognition, AI, analytics, models, datasets, code, or training data;
- use the Services to develop, train, benchmark, or improve a competing product without permission;
- upload unlawful, harmful, malicious, misleading, infringing, abusive, or inappropriate material;
- use the Services in a way that could damage Shootr.app, other users, schools, organisers, events, or the operation of the Services;
- attempt to bypass payment, entitlement, access-control, or security features;
- use another person's account or allow another person to use your account;
- transmit unsolicited commercial communications;
- use the Services for any unlawful, illegal, fraudulent, harmful, or abusive purpose.
14. Third-party services and external links
The Services rely on third-party providers, including hosting, authentication, storage, payment, analytics, OCR, AI, and email providers.
We are not responsible for third-party services, outages, errors, changes, terms, policies, or processing except where the law says otherwise.
Your use of third-party payment, authentication, or related flows may also be subject to the third party's own terms and policies.
The Services may contain links to, or be sent through to, third-party websites, content, banners, advertisements, or features that we do not own or control. Such external links and content are not investigated, monitored, or checked by us for accuracy, adequacy, validity, reliability, availability, or completeness.
We do not warrant, endorse, guarantee, or assume responsibility for any information, products, or services offered by third parties, including those reached through links, banners, or advertising on or via the Services. Any transaction or interaction between you and a third party is solely between you and that third party, and we are not a party to it.
15. Testimonials
The Services may display testimonials, quotes, reviews, screenshots, or similar content from users of Shootr products. These reflect the personal experiences and opinions of those individual users.
Individual experiences are not necessarily representative of all users, and your own results may vary. We do not claim, and you should not assume, that all users will have the same experience.
Testimonials may be submitted in various forms (text, images, audio, or video) and may be edited for length, clarity, or context before being published. The views expressed in testimonials are those of the individual user and do not necessarily reflect ours. Users are not paid or otherwise compensated for providing testimonials unless we expressly say so alongside the testimonial.
16. Availability, support, and changes
The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
We may update, change, suspend, restrict, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time.
We will try to avoid unnecessary disruption, but we do not guarantee that the Services will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
The Services may occasionally be unavailable due to maintenance, updates, hosting issues, third-party outages, security incidents, or other reasons.
Support is provided on a reasonable-efforts basis. We do not guarantee any particular support response time, fix time, uptime, service level, or availability.
17. Suspension and termination
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the Services if we reasonably believe that you have:
- breached these Terms;
- misused the Services;
- failed to pay where payment is required;
- created a security risk;
- infringed someone else's rights;
- attempted to access data you are not entitled to access;
- used the Services in a way that could harm Shootr.app, other users, schools, organisers, events, or the Services.
If your access is provided through a school, organisation, event, or managed entitlement, your access may also end if that entitlement is removed, reassigned, expires, or otherwise ends.
18. Data deletion and account closure
Some Services provide tools to delete certain data.
If you want to close your account or request deletion of account-level information, contact:
Deletion may not immediately remove all copies from backups, logs, audit records, security records, historical records, or other systems where temporary or limited retention is necessary.
Some Shootr.app products may have special retention rules. For example, Shootr Competitions may retain certain competition records long-term or permanently as part of the historical record of an event.
More information is provided in the Privacy Policy and product-specific terms.
19. No professional advice
The Services may provide tools for recording, analysing, reviewing, administering, or publishing shooting-related information.
The Services do not provide professional, safety, medical, legal, coaching, gunsmithing, equipment, competition-official, or governing-body advice.
Any analytics, AI outputs, OCR results, charts, recommendations, summaries, exports, results, or PDFs are provided for general training, administration, convenience, or event-management support only.
You remain responsible for checking your own data, scores, settings, equipment, safety procedures, competition compliance, event rules, and shooting decisions.
20. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Shootr.app is not liable for:
- loss of profits;
- loss of business;
- loss of opportunity;
- loss of data;
- loss of goodwill;
- competition errors;
- scoring errors;
- incorrect rankings;
- selection decisions;
- equipment decisions;
- missed entries;
- disputes;
- loss of prizes;
- indirect or consequential loss;
- losses arising from use of a Service outside its intended purpose;
- losses caused by third-party services, hosting outages, payment provider issues, or internet/network failures.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
21. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
If we make significant changes, we may notify users within the Services, by email, or by another appropriate method.
Your continued use of the Services after updated Terms take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
If you do not agree to updated Terms, you should stop using the Services and, if applicable, cancel any paid subscription or stop using the relevant access route.
22. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes will be subject to the courts of England and Wales, except where consumer law gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
Schedule 1 — Vantage-specific terms
1. What Vantage is
Vantage is a tool for personal shooting plotsheet tracking, training review, OCR-assisted data entry, analytics, AI-assisted coaching, exports, and optional sharing within groups.
Vantage is intended to help users record, review, and understand their own shooting-performance data.
2. What Vantage is not
Vantage is not:
- an official competition scoring system;
- a match administration system;
- an official results system;
- an official record-keeping system;
- a substitute for official scorecards, range records, match officials, or competition rules;
- professional coaching, safety, legal, medical, gunsmithing, or equipment advice.
Any scores, diagrams, plotsheets, OCR outputs, analytics, AI coaching outputs, exports, or PDFs generated by Vantage are for personal training, review, and convenience only.
You are responsible for checking your own records against official scorecards, competition rules, range records, match officials' decisions, and any applicable governing-body requirements.
3. Vantage free trial
Vantage may offer a free trial.
Unless the relevant checkout or product flow states otherwise, you do not need to provide payment card details to start a Vantage free trial. Because of this, Vantage trials let you try the product before choosing whether to pay.
If a Vantage free trial ends and you have not started a paid subscription through Stripe or another approved payment flow, your Vantage access may revert to a free tier or be limited, but you will not be charged.
4. OCR and user verification
Vantage may use OCR, handwriting recognition, image processing, and other automated tools to pre-populate plotsheet fields.
These tools are provided for convenience only and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for a particular plotsheet.
You are responsible for reviewing and confirming all extracted values before saving, relying on, sharing, exporting, or otherwise using them.
You should not rely solely on OCR, automated extraction, analytics, or AI-generated outputs when making safety-critical, competition-critical, or equipment-related decisions.
5. AI coaching and analytics
Vantage may provide AI-assisted coaching, analytics, summaries, or performance-review features.
These features are experimental and provided for general training support only.
AI coaching and analytics may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for your circumstances.
You remain responsible for your own shooting decisions, safety, equipment setup, competition conduct, and interpretation of any information shown in Vantage.
6. Sharing with groups
Your Vantage plotsheets are private by default.
You may choose to share plotsheets with groups.
While a plotsheet is shared with a group, authorised group managers can view that plotsheet and related data.
You can unshare plotsheets at any time using the tools provided in Vantage. If you unshare a plotsheet, it will no longer be available to those group managers through the group view.
However, Vantage cannot control what a group manager does with information they have already viewed, exported, downloaded, copied, discussed, or otherwise retained outside Vantage.
You should only share plotsheets with groups and managers you trust.
7. Group managers and shared data
If you are a group manager, school manager, coach, team administrator, or otherwise have access to another user's shared plotsheets or data, you must use that access responsibly.
You must only view, use, export, discuss, or share another user's data for legitimate coaching, training, team, school, or administrative purposes.
You must not:
- misuse shared data;
- access data out of curiosity;
- disclose data unnecessarily;
- embarrass, harass, pressure, or target users;
- use data unfairly or out of context;
- share exported copies with people who do not need to see them;
- use group access for any improper purpose.
Group access is provided on trust.
We may restrict or remove manager access if we reasonably believe it is being misused.
8. Group access, safeguarding, and misuse concerns
Vantage allows users to share plotsheets with groups and allows authorised group managers to view shared data.
We do not undertake to actively monitor all group activity, shared plotsheets, manager conduct, or use of exported information.
However, if we become aware of a safeguarding, privacy, security, misuse, trust, or legal concern, we may take action that we consider appropriate.
This may include:
- restricting access;
- removing a group manager;
- suspending a group;
- unsharing plotsheets;
- disabling sharing features;
- preserving relevant records;
- contacting affected users;
- taking any other reasonable step to protect users, the service, or Shootr.app.
Group managers, coaches, schools, clubs, and other organisations remain responsible for how they use information shared with them and for complying with their own safeguarding, privacy, and organisational obligations.
9. Exporting and downloading Vantage data
Vantage may allow you to export or download data in formats such as CSV and PDF.
If you export, download, share, or otherwise take data out of Vantage, you are responsible for protecting that copy and for ensuring that any onward sharing is lawful and appropriate.
Shootr.app is not responsible for copies of data that have been exported, downloaded, screenshotted, printed, forwarded, or otherwise taken outside Vantage.
Schedule 2 — Shootr Competitions-specific terms
1. What Shootr Competitions is
Shootr Competitions is a service for competition entry, organiser workflows, squadding, score entry, results, rankings, and related event administration.
Shootr Competitions provides tools to support event organisers and entrants. It does not replace the organiser's responsibility for running the competition.
2. Event organisers remain responsible
Event organisers remain responsible for:
- event rules;
- eligibility;
- entry acceptance;
- squadding/detail allocation decisions;
- scoring decisions;
- score corrections;
- protests, disputes, and appeals;
- publication of entry lists and results;
- compliance with applicable range, club, school, governing-body, safeguarding, and competition requirements.
Shootr.app provides software tools, but does not act as the competition organiser unless expressly stated.
3. Entry lists and results may be published
If you enter a competition through Shootr Competitions, you understand and agree that your information may be used for competition administration.
This may include publication or sharing of:
- your name;
- club, school, team, or organisation;
- entry details;
- squadding or detail allocation;
- score information;
- rankings;
- prize information;
- results;
- historical competition records.
This information may be visible to organisers, deputies, other competitors, spectators, or the public, depending on the event settings and organiser decisions.
If you do not agree to this, you should not enter the event.
4. Organiser and deputy access
Event organisers may appoint deputies, scorers, administrators, or other authorised helpers.
Those people may be able to access event data as needed to administer the competition.
Organisers are responsible for ensuring that deputies and helpers use event data appropriately and only for legitimate event purposes.
5. Historical competition records
Some competition data may be retained long-term or permanently as part of the official, semi-official, or historical record of an event.
This may include:
- entry lists;
- scores;
- rankings;
- results;
- prize lists;
- event records;
- audit or correction records.
Deletion of an account or withdrawal from future use of Shootr.app does not necessarily require deletion of historical competition records where retention is necessary to maintain the integrity of event history or where the entrant agreed to those terms when entering.
6. Scoring and verification
Shootr Competitions may provide tools for score entry, score checking, discrepancy handling, scanned score evidence, OCR, image processing, and results publication.
Automated tools may be inaccurate or incomplete.
Organisers, scorers, and competitors remain responsible for checking scores and resolving discrepancies according to the event rules.
7. Corrections and disputes
Corrections, protests, appeals, and disputes relating to an event are the responsibility of the event organiser.
Shootr.app may provide tools to assist with corrections or audit trails, but Shootr.app does not make final sporting or competition decisions unless expressly stated.
8. No guarantee of event acceptance or outcome
Use of Shootr Competitions does not guarantee:
- acceptance into an event;
- a particular squad/detail allocation;
- any particular score, ranking, result, or prize;
- that an event will proceed;
- that an organiser will accept or correct a result in a particular way.
9. Competition-specific terms
Some events may have additional event-specific terms, notices, rules, or privacy information.
If there is a conflict between these Shootr Competitions-specific terms and event-specific rules, the event-specific rules may apply to event administration, provided they do not override rights or obligations that cannot legally be overridden.
Schedule 3 — Plotsheets-specific terms
1. What Plotsheets is
Plotsheets is a Shootr.app tool that allows users to generate, customise, save, export, download, or print shooting plotsheets.
It may allow customisation such as zoom level, number of rows, gridlines, layout, target style, and saved favourites or presets.
Plotsheets is provided as a free convenience tool unless expressly stated otherwise.
2. What Plotsheets is not
Plotsheets is not an official scoring system, official scorecard provider, match administration system, target specification authority, governing-body document, or competition record system.
Generated plotsheets are provided for convenience only.
You are responsible for checking that any generated plotsheet is suitable for your intended use before printing, distributing, relying on, or using it.
3. Accuracy, layout, scaling, and printing
Plotsheets may generate PDFs, images, print layouts, or other outputs.
We do not guarantee that generated outputs will be accurate, complete, correctly scaled, correctly aligned, printer-safe, browser-consistent, or suitable for any particular range, target, discipline, competition, printer, paper size, or scoring process.
Output may be affected by browser settings, PDF viewers, printer drivers, print scaling, paper size, margins, device settings, and user-selected options.
You should check all generated plotsheets carefully before use, especially where measurements, scoring areas, grids, shot positions, target diagrams, or competition requirements matter.
4. Favourites and saved settings
Plotsheets may allow you to save favourites, presets, templates, or settings.
Saved favourites are provided as a convenience feature only.
We do not guarantee that favourites, presets, templates, settings, or generated layouts will be stored permanently, remain available, remain unchanged, or continue to work in the same way.
We may change, remove, reset, migrate, or discontinue favourites or saved settings at any time, including as part of maintenance, redesign, data cleanup, technical changes, or discontinuation of the feature.
You should keep your own copies of any generated plotsheets or settings that are important to you.
5. Free availability
Plotsheets is currently provided as a free tool.
We may change, limit, suspend, or discontinue the tool or any of its features at any time.
We may also introduce paid features, usage limits, account requirements, or other access controls in future, but this will not affect any rights you have under applicable law.
6. User responsibility
You are responsible for how you use, print, distribute, or rely on generated plotsheets.
You must not use Plotsheets in a way that suggests Shootr.app has approved, certified, or officially issued a scorecard, target, competition form, or governing-body document unless Shootr.app has expressly agreed to that in writing.
